Schildts Förlags AB was created through a merger of two Finno-Swedish publishing houses in 1991: Holger Schildts Förlagsaktiebolag and Editum AB. The eldest of these, Holger Schildts förlagsaktiebolag, was founded in 1913.
Today Schildts is the biggest publisher of Swedish literature in Finland. We publish around 40 new titles annually; these include novels, short stories, poetry, books for children and juveniles as well as non-fiction. Schildts also publishes educational literature and a selection of new Finnish titles each year.Tove Jansson is the most well known of our authors internationally.
